Kentucky Derby 2018. What a fabulous event! Marcus went down on Tuesday of Derby week to start setting up the Bowtie Bar for 4th street live, the infield suite as well as all of the infield activation stuff! He worked SO hard all week, and I was very happy to come down to Louisville for the weekend to see everything in place!
How beautiful is this view from the suite?!
The stage for the Justin Moore concert which took place at 4th Street Live. SUCH a cool downtown. Love Louisville! |
Marcus met the Clydesdales! I’m hoping next year I can go down a day early to see more of the awesome festivities!
The suite was gorgeous and thank goodness we had a suite for the actual races. It was POURING rain. All day! 🙁
Justin Moore was SO good! We had the best view over-looking the stage. After his concert, we went to the Palace Theatre for the Diddy concert. I’ve been a fan of Puff Daddy since I was a little girl and I was stoked to see him! It started at 11, and he unfortunately he didn’t come on stage until 2:30 AM. Needless to say we were exhausted having to wake up early the next day for the Derby! However, you run on adrenaline at events like this, so it really didn’t phase us at the time!
VIP area at the Diddy show |
We actually started to head out at 2:00 AM, and I ran into my friend from college who is a promoter and he said to stay, that Diddy was arriving soon….. and then Diddy’s Rolls Royce pulled up…..so we went back inside to the show! |
Mint Julep + Budweiser + Derby Pies! |
And a really pretty poncho! HAHAHA! Thank goodness for ponchos every time we left the suite to use the restroom! Derby day is a long one. We got on our bus at 10:00 AM and didn’t get home until 9:00 PM and then went out to dinner after that! |
I am always so in awe of event-mode Marcus. He works so hard and literally every person I met came up to me and said, “We LOVE your husband – he is the best, you’re so lucky!!” I was like, “Me lucky?? What about him being lucky?!” HAHA! 😉 😉 It was nice hearing such great things about Marcus especially since he has just been with his new company 1 year now.
Kentucky Derby 2018 in the books!
