Blakesley is changing each and every day and I want to document more about her little two year old self. At her 2 year check-up she was 24 lbs, 13 oz and 33.5 inches tall. Around the 25th percentile. As soon as Blakesley turned two, the “Terrible Twos” kicked in. She is not a terrible child, but has definitely give me some difficult days these past few weeks. I do not have a picture to go with my nail polish story, but last week, she found and opened a bottle of OPI nail polish and painted her entire face, arms, legs, wall and carpet. Bright pink. I was so angry and freaking out about how to get it off her face, that I didn’t even consider a picture. I know one day I will regret that and laugh about it!
For a couple of weeks straight, she has refused her car seat. All out flailing, balling up, kicking, refusing to be buckled in. One time at the pool it took three adults to finally smash her in the carseat. Even if I bribe her with treats, etc, it won’t work. She does not want to be told to get into a car seat. She also hates sitting down in her stroller, but I keep fighting it and trying to show her who is boss. Same with shopping carts. She has started throwing tantrums, wanting to do things herself ( getting dressed, putting on shoes, buckling her highchair or carseat or shopping cart buckle ), and sharing is a concept we have not yet learned much about.
So those things have all been difficult, BUT, Blakesley is SUCH A joy. She loves to run and give you the biggest hug and kiss when you have been gone for a while. Whether it is Sonoma and Cora after a long day away at school, or Daddy after a work trip, or Mommy after working out, she runs towards you with a great big smile and hug!
Blakesley is LOUD. She is very vocal. She doesn’t speak in sentences yet, but two word phrases, and girl is LOUD! Every day she seems to learn new words. My favorite is, “Thanks, Mommy.” She says it ALL the time. Her other favorite things to say right now are:
Soso and Dodo ( Sonoma and Cora )
Anna and Elsa
Bus
Yeah Poo Yeah Poo ( yeah, pool, yeah pool! )
YAY!
Awwww!
Woof Woof
Moo Moo
I love YOU!
I know that one day she will wake up and no longer say the animal sounds instead of the animal and I sure will miss that. If you ask her what an animal is, she says “woof woof” instead of dog, “meow meow” instead of cat, etc. It is so darn cute!
Blakesley starts her PDO school on Monday! I took her to “Meet the Teacher” day this week and I can tell that she is ready. The school reminds me SO much of Sonoma and Cora’s PDOS back in IL and I am very excited for her to experience something of her own. She already loves the Kids Zone so much at my gym, so I know she will be okay in her own social setting. She will be gone 2 days a week from 9-1. I have told her about going to school, wearing a backpack and taking a lunch box, and then she asks, “Bus??? Me bus??” No, sweet girl, not yet!! She wants to ride that bus so bad!

Before Blakesley was even 1 years old, she was taking her arms out of her pajamas AND her sleep sacks on a consistent basis. And, escaping the car seat. Well now, she likes to completely undress from her pajamas at night. I have been going in every night before I go to bed around 11:30 or so, and re-dressing her in her sleep. I am afraid she will get cold! And she has also been pulling off her fitted sheet every night too. Such a funny little thing she does!

Last night was the first night in a long time she was fully clothed when I went in to check on her. |

I love watching Blakesley learn, laugh, play and grow. As sad as I get about my baby growing up, it makes me so proud and happy to see what all she becomes. She has a strong personality and I can’t wait to watch her conquer the world! My heart is FULL!
