My beautiful Cora Brighton. Where do I begin? 5 is such a huge milestone, one that I cannot believe is actually here. This past year has been a whirlwind, and so much has happened. When I try to sit and wrap my mind around everything that went on in a year’s time frame of your little life, it is quite astonishing. You became a big sister just a few weeks before turning 4, went to your 1st year of Preschool, endured our house flood and construction, followed by losing your beloved Grandfather, then moving out of state and going on a new adventure here in Indiana. I’m sorry that life was so chaotic, but through it all you grew so very much. You became more independent, a super helpful big sister, and you loved harder than I have ever seen another person love someone. You have such a huge, gentle, caring heart, and you wear it on your sleeve. You are emotional and feel such big feelings. If I’m having a hard day, you are the first one to notice and will come and give me a hug out of nowhere. When you get in the car after school, the first question you ask me is how was MY day, and what did I do with Blakesley? The morning when you wake up, you will remember what event I had the night before or if I had a date night or girls’ night and you will ask me so many genuine questions. It’s just the sweetest, and you make others feel so loved. The Assistant Principal of your brand new school told me that you always have such a happy, big smile on your face and that you are so friendly. I love hearing that and I am so proud of you. I cannot wait to see you grow more this year, as you embark on your Kindergarten journey at your new school in your new town! I love you to outer space and back, and you will always be my sunshine!
