We packed up the kiddos after their last day of school ( which, btw, Sonoma and Cora walked off the bus that day SOBBING. We thought something happened, but no…..they were just that upset about school ending. Marcus and I couldn’t believe it! ) and we headed back up to Chicago. We spent Memorial Weekend in the suburbs back at our old stomping grounds. We spent Friday and Saturday back in Naperville/Aurora with our dear friends, the Palmers. They came to stay with us last Summer!

Then, we went out to lunch and to see the movie Aladdin! B was pretty wild, as you can see in the picture, but in her defense, she was very sleep deprived! |

Such a special friendship with this sweet family. |
On Sunday we headed to Wheaton to stay with our other best friends, the Greens. They also came to visit us and stay with us last Summer.

I was beyond excited to finally meet Baby Libby Cate! She is a DOLL and is so big now!! |

8 kids between the two of us. Sarah and I became friends when Sonoma and Charlotte were 18 months old. We’ve been through so much together over the years and I love that we are still close as ever! Sarah is my rock and we talk pretty much every single day. Our kiddos had a blast playing at the park and just being together!
SUCH a sweet baby! Marcus and Matt took the older kids to an indoor trampoline park and Sarah and I had a couple of hours to sit and talk and enjoy being together while all the babies napped. It was glorious! |
On Monday, we headed back to our old neighborhood and let the girls play at the park that wasn’t completed until right after we moved almost 2 years ago. It was so fun to run into so many of our old neighbors! We then spent some time visiting with my friend Shelley who recently had a horrible accident that left her paralyzed from the chest down. Her daughter, Alexa, is one of Sonoma’s oldest friends and we took Alexa out to lunch with us!
Our close friends Jen and Joel meet us for lunch at the Turf Room ( our old fave! ), where we ran into my bestie Erin and her family! I had NO idea they would be there and it was such a sweet surprise!! Then, we all back to Jen and Joel’s house and Jen had cupcakes and juice for all the kiddos. It was so nice and I was reminded how much I miss Jen and her friendship.
We packed a LOT into our trip back to IL but we made some great new memories and were reminded how grateful we are for our friends.
