This trip to Nashville was the the first trip since Covid where I saw a city actually coming back to life! Nashville was lively and truly the perfect spot for our Spring Break road trip! I was on the hunt for live music, plant-based food and of course FUN! I for sure found that in Nashville! The temperatures were in the 70s and 80s and it was truly the best weather you could ask for in early April!

This is the third vacation that I have taken with my boyfriend, but our very first road trip! The first time we went on vacation was during Fall Break and we went to San Antonio. Our second trip was to St. Thomas for Christmas.
We wanted to get out of Indiana for Spring Break, but decided that a road trip would be fun and more cost effective. We packed a huge cooler full of food and drinks and were well stocked for our entire trip. We really only went out to eat 1 meal a day since we brought so much other food with us.

We broke up our road trip and stayed one night in Louisville. We went to a cookout at a friends’ house and then spent the night at the Galt House downtown. I scored an incredible deal through Snap Travel ( text messaging hotel deals! ) It was so good, that I thought it was for sure going to be a scam! Haha, it definitely was not a scam and I will be using this website in the future to book hotels!

In Nashville we stayed at the Margaritaville Hotel Nashville.
The resort was located in the perfect spot so you could walk everywhere you wanted to go in the heart of downtown. There was an amazing roof-top pool with a restaurant and bar and we spent a lot of time up there! The rooftop had a California vibe, and I definitely didn’t feel like I was in Tennessee when I was at the pool!

I get asked all the time how I stay on track with my diet while I am on vacation? Switching to a plant-based diet has truly been a lifestyle change, rather than a “diet.” I feel amazing now that this is the type of food in my system. So, when I go on vacation, I don’t feel guilty indulging in desserts or drinks, because everything else is for the most part on track.
I absolutely love going to new cities and researching Vegan restaurants or restaurants with vegetarian options. I’ve never been disappointed, regardless of the city. You just have to look it up, but also, that’s where I will help out on Live Lean! I love re-capping my trips with the restaurants I visited that have healthy options! Keep following along on my journeys!
One of our dinners was at a plant-based restaurant, Avo, and it was SO good! Next door was a plant-based ice cream shop, Koko.

Another favorite restaurant was Hampton Social.
We loved their lunch so much that we went twice during our trip for the same exact lunch!
Another favorite meal was at Butcher & Bee , which is in East Nashville. East Nashville is one of my favorite parts of the city. It has a really cool, laid-back, hipster vibe. I ate an entire plant-based meal at Butcher & Bee and loved it!
The other spot I love in East Nashville is Rosemary & Beauty Queen. It’s a bar, but it is set up inside a house to look like you’re at a house party. It has such a cool atmosphere inside + outside. We went there for drinks after dinner when we were in East Nashville.
I love being able to walk around and explore a city without set plans. Nashville is especially great for that, because there is so much going on and there is so much live music! We had fun stopping in lots of different bars. I prefer the rooftop bars, where you can get a good view of the city from up above!

I have gotten a lot of questions about my new tattoo that I came home from vacation with! My boyfriend and I got tattoos together at Nashville Ink!
I have many tattoos, but this was D’s first tattoo and our first tattoo together! We had talked about getting tattoos for a while now, and had a few designs saved for the ones we want to get together. We didn’t have plans to get one in Nashville, but it just so happened to work out perfectly. After lunch together on Monday afternoon, we walked by a tattoo sign, and on a whim decided to go upstairs and check out the shop.
After quickly doing some Yelp research, we agreed that it was a great spot to get our tattoos. We had a wonderful experience with our tattoo artist and it was a memory I will always cherish!
I can’t say enough great things about our Nashville trip and especially our resort. When we go back we will definitely stay there again! Check out more of our hotel views in my video I made below:
