Over Labor Day weekend, my friend, Shelley Hayes, fell down a flight of stairs sleepwalking and had a tragic accident that has left her paralyzed from the chest down. Her daughter, Alexa, was Sonoma’s 1st and best friend since Kindergarten. We are all heartbroken for their family, as their world has forever changed. Shelley is a fighter and we have faith that she will continue to be strong. However, their family needs all of the help and support they can get right now. Please click below and read their story and donate if you can. Or even just sharing their story on social media would mean so much and help out a ton.
Shelley’s Mobility Campaign
I have felt so bad that I can’t do more on a daily basis, so I offered to take Alexa for a weekend here in Indy. My friend Jaime offered to drive Alexa halfway on Friday to meet me between Indy and Chicago. Her daughter, Zoe, was also one of Sonoma’s friends back in Chicago. Zoe and Alexa both came and stayed Friday-Sunday with us. The girls had a blast being reunited and I think it was fun for Alexa to get away and get her mind off everything going on back home.
