10. Double Digits. My baby girl will never again be a single digit. She told me the other day that after her 10th birthday she will only be double digits unless she lives to be 100! There are so many emotions running through my mind. Even more so now that we are still in quarantine due to Covid-19. I promised Sonoma the best birthday ever, so I am still going to do everything in my power to make that happen! She initially had a huge 10th birthday party sleepover planned, but that will have to be postponed and will hopefully happen some time over the Summer. In the mean time, we have a SURPRISE birthday parade planned out front of our house in the evening. And, I put together a surprise card party. I believe Sonoma has received close to 50 birthday cards!! She will be so surprised when she opens all of them!! We are also doing surprise donuts for breakfast and balloons in the afternoon. She requested Old Spaghetti Factory takeout for dinner and I baked her a vegan red velvet cake with whipped cream ( her request!!) for dessert.

Sonoma is still my most strong willed daughter. There are parts of her that haven’t changed one bit since she was born. She will die fighting. That girl will NOT lose a fight. No matter the cost. Some day it will be a beautiful quality. She is confident and smart. SO smart. I can count on her to do anything. Whether I need help with a chore, in the kitchen, cooking, homework help for her sister, to do her sisters’ hair, to put something together, to fix something, to sew a button, to do my own hair, she’s my girl. There isn’t anything that she can’t do. She will find a way to figure it out and get it done. She is a crazy fast reader and is reading books way beyond her reading or grade level. She’s creative and so artistic. Her love, passion and dedication for gymnastics is beyond admirable. She’s never negative, and has tried hard to push through and remain optimistic throughout quarantine.
( though it has been extremely difficult ! )

A true Taurus – the hardest-working sign in the Zodiac, ( a bull )! Sonoma is reliable, patient, devoted, responsible, stubborn, well-grounded, has an intense internal drive, an excellent artist and doesn’t like sudden change! The Taurus motto is, “Nothing worth having comes easy.” That couldn’t be more true about Sonoma or her attitude and outlook on life.
I am constantly learning so much from Sonoma and I continue to be inspired by her. I am a better, stronger person because of her.
To the one who made my dreams of being a Mommy come true. . . . Happy 10th Birthday, Sonoma Danielle! I hope you love your last birthday movie!!
