2018. Wow. It’s still so hard for me to believe this year is finally here. This will be the first year I live the entire year without my Father. This year will be different in so many ways, but I am determined to do everything in my power to make it a good one.
I started out by making my vision board. I’ve always talked about making one for my business, so I finally sat down and did it. I have been using a leather notebook for work that was my Dad’s, and I found some laminated quotes inside of it. I thought they were perfect for my board.

New Year’s Eve recap:
We kicked off New Year’s Eve with taking Sonoma and Cora to the Colts game. We had a babysitter for Blakesley and enjoyed a fun time downtown with the big girls.
We loved the field passes too!
We saw all the players up close and personal and the girls met the Cheerleaders!
Aside from a Colts WIN, we were all the most excited about the free scarves they handed out on game day!! They came to good use for such a frigid day!
We came home, re-grouped, had an early dinner with the girls, and then got Cora and Blakesley off to bed. We had another babysitter come in the evening, so Marcus and I could head back downtown to check out some festivities that his company was sponsoring.
It’s not Times Square, but the Indy ball drop was REALLY cool! Good thing we had VIP seats indoors by the window at Punchbowl Social so we didn’t have to stand outside. |
It was -2 when the ball dropped. |
New Year’s Eve is definitely an over-rated holiday ( IMO ), but New Year’s Day is a holiday I love. There is no hosting, no special meals or traditions, no parties, and everywhere is closed. We stayed in PJs all day, watched movies by the fire, and didn’t have a care in the world. I really enjoyed all being together with no stress.
The girls are suppose to go back to school tomorrow, but I just got a text that school is cancelled
( and tomorrow is suppose to be the warmest day of the week, so I imagine we will be out all week.)
I am thankful I can sleep in and I don’t have to make lunches, but I am not sure I can handle more sisterly fighting! And, Cora is very upset and was crying so hard tonight when I told her school was cancelled. She said she was so excited to see her friends tomorrow 🙁 Poor girl.
Winter Break to be continued…….
