I took a poll and asked my followers what their biggest concerns were about switching to a plant-based diet.  A lot of people are concerned with finding a meat substitute that works for their recipes and also finding recipes that aren’t time consuming.  I am here to help and provide information and ideas to make your diet healthier and definitely not harder.

Part 1 of my “Sub this for that” series:

Ground Beef:

I encourage everyone to try subbing out your regular animal ground beef for a plant-based option. My two recommendations as far as flavor and consistency go:

Beyond Beef

(They make crumbles, packaged ground meat, frozen pre-made burger patties & breakfast sausages to name a few options! I’ve seen them at a variety of stores)

Trader Joe’s Beefless Beef

All I ask that you do, is simply sub this out in your own recipe.  This will be  a small change ( that makes a big difference! ) and both of these items can be used in your own recipes for tacos, chili, lasagna, sloppy joes, pasta, etc.  You don’t even need fancy new vegan recipe to start.  You can try using your own recipe and just swapping out the meat. It’s that simple!  Remember, all you have to do is try making small changes on a daily basis and your health + the environment will thank you.
